Bitcoin (BTC) recently sent the crypto market into a frenzy, soaring to a new all-time high (ATH) near $119,000, after briefly pausing at $113,000 and $116,000. But despite the bullish momentum, analyst CrediBULL Crypto is urging investors to skip the Bitcoin hype and look to altcoins for superior returns.

Why You Should Skip the Bitcoin Hype

CrediBULL Crypto, a well-followed voice in the trading community, issued a sharp warning via X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing that Bitcoin’s rally may not offer the best risk/reward setup right now:

“The big opportunity for gains is on ALTS even if Bitcoin is the one that is ‘leading’ this move.”

He added that BTC is over 650% above its ideal accumulation range, making it a risky entry point unless part of a well-defined trading plan:

“If you can’t identify a trade setup, there’s no reason to buy Bitcoin at these levels. Altcoins offer much better opportunities from an R/R [risk/reward] perspective.”

    Altcoin Season Incoming?

CrediBULL’s view aligns with broader sentiment from other influential market voices. Arthur Hayes, former CEO of BitMEX, and Crypto Rover, a popular crypto YouTuber, both point to an impending “alt season” reminiscent of late 2024, when altcoins significantly outperformed Bitcoin following its breakout.

In a recent tweet, Hayes noted that he had reversed his earlier bearish outlook due to Bitcoin’s strong structural breakout and rising Ethereum dominance. He predicted:

“Get ready for a monster alt szn.”

Hayes also confirmed that his Maelstrom Fund is increasing its altcoin exposure, anticipating favorable shifts in macro conditions and political climate.

Bitcoin’s Rally: Strong, but Caution Needed

While analysts caution against FOMO, some metrics indicate that this Bitcoin rally may be more sustainable than previous ones. According to CryptoQuant, the move is being driven not by speculation, but by strategic accumulation and limited selling activity.

    Key indicators support this view:

    • MVRV ratio at 2.2 (vs. 2.7+ during past peaks)
    • Decline in exchange balances (down over 21% in 4 months)
    • Healthy on-chain signals like SOPR and MPI

Still, from a short- to medium-term perspective, many believe the upside potential now lies with altcoins.

    Altcoins Gaining Momentum

Despite Bitcoin’s ATH, major altcoins are outpacing BTC in gains:

    • Ethereum (ETH) surged over 18% in 7 days, reclaiming $3,000 and targeting $3,350–$3,500.
    • Cardano (ADA) jumped 23.7%, reclaiming the $0.64 level and eyeing $1.
    • Hyperliquid (HYPE) hit a new ATH at $46.25, up 19%, now testing the $50 barrier.
    • Solana (SOL) also climbed past $164, with momentum suggesting a breakout above $180.

Bottom Line: While Bitcoin dominates headlines, seasoned analysts suggest it may be time to skip the Bitcoin hype and focus on altcoins for better gains. With institutional interest rising and altcoin charts heating up, the real opportunities may lie beyond BTC in this phase of the cycle.
