In 2009, the advent of Bitcoin introduced the idea of a decentralized digital currency based on cryptographic tools, bringing Blockchain technology to general attention. Since then the Blockchain has significantly evolved through 5 technological generations and has widened its scope far beyond the use case of digital currencies, laying the foundations for the so-called Internet of Value, which promises to change the way people live and companies do business more than the Internet of Information has done.

There are already many books that talk about the Blockchain from a technical point of view and its possible use cases. – The fascinating world of DeFi, Decentralized Finance (or Open Finance).

– The integration of Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things, the 3 technological forces that will shape the future.

– The dynamics of the cryptoasset market, evaluating whether they can be considered a potential investment or not.

– The technical, governance and regulatory challenges Blockchain has to face.

This is the second edition of the book, published only 6 months after the first edition (which took place in April 2020). In the tumultuous world of the Blockchain, 6 months can be a lot and, in fact, there have been several events that led to the writing of the second edition.
